One Year!!!

*We've had some nasty sickness going around our house, and now that we're all on the mend it's time to post this :)  Only a few weeks late!

Wow, I can't believe we have a 1 year old.  This past year has flown by and I'm more and more amazed and excited about all the fun things Maylee has started to do.

Maylee's favorites:

game: Pattycake!
book: If we let her pick, she gravitates to "Moo Baa Lalala".  And she calls it "Lalala".  This was her first official word!
food: EVERYTHING.  She loves to feed herself now, so she likes chunks of bananas, blueberries, cheese, toast, and anything else she can pick up.
drink: milk... and until recently she would only drink it out of a bottle.  After 5 tries, WE FOUND A SIPPY CUP SHE LIKES!  Hallelujah.
loves: being outside!

A few more things to note.....
-This girl can dance.  Just give her a tune and she'll go to town.
-Maylee continues to sleep well in her bed - about 10 hours at night.  We recently found that when she is exhausted she will crash on the carpet as long as her favorite blanket is close by.
-Still jabbering a lot, but none of it means much to us YET (other than "lalala" - and we taught her to say "uh-oh" although she doesn't always say it at the right times!).  I have noticed that sometimes Maylee wants to tell me something, so we're working on learning how to express what she wants.
-We've experienced a few tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants....
-Maylee is super sweet and seems to constantly be smiling and laughing lately!
-She's mastered walking, and almost runs through the house.  It makes me so nervous that she'll face plant into something... apparently we can't just leisurely walk around here.

Maylee has 7 teeth and weighs about 21 pounds.
Wearing 12 month clothes.

  2. You should send me some videos of her jabbering. I wanna see it sooo bad! She is such a cutie!
Are you teaching her sign language? We used that with the kids in the preschool, and it worked well.
