Our 24th

This year for the 24th we joined the Shobers in Koosharem for a quick camping trip! Growing up, Nick and his family made the tradition to go camping in Koohsarem over the 24th. We were only able to go for a couple days this year, but we had a ton of fun! We went to the parade and watched the whole ward participate (the young women even gave out rootbeer floats!), took a few four wheeler rides, shot some clay pigeons, and relaxed. It was a way fun, quick trip!

Thanks again Shobers!

Harry Potter!

We went with some friends to see Harry Potter a couple weeks ago -
Neither Nick or I have been valiant readers so we weren't sure what to expect...
Surprisingly we were able to follow the story line just fine!
Now maybe we'll have to read the books...

Surprise!

The past couple days, my mom and some of her cute friends were in St. George celebrating her {50th} birthday. My mom's friends did so many cute things for her! I think the trip was full of surprises for my mom and we were lucky enough to be in on one of the surprises....

Tuesday was her birthday and the ladies had plans to go to the Painted Pony for dinner then to the Tuacahn for "Grease". We drove down to met them at the restaurant -
the look on my mom's face was priceless when she saw us!

Their food looks so beautiful you almost don't want to eat it!

After we ate dinner, Nick and I tagged along and went to the Tuacahn as well. We had free tickets from the Halloween contest last year so we didn't even have to pay anything! The show was cute - although we hear "The Little Mermaid" is cuter (that's our next show to see!).

We hope you had a fun birthday Mom!

Oops.

A pen somehow went through the washer AND dryer.

NOT a good idea when you have a specific shirt you are supposed to wear to work today...

Don't forget to check your pockets!

Lake Powell

This weekend we were able to head to Lake Powell and spend some time with my family. We had SO much fun! Scott and Kalli came with us and we met up with my fam on Friday night. The weather was great Friday and we spent the evening on the water. The water is definitely alot higher this year than it has been in the past (we've heard it's rising 1 ft a day!).

Saturday we went to Rainbow Bridge and took a really short walk over (due to the high water). The weather was unbelievable - perfect temp, no wind, and clear skies!

It can't get much better than that!

our whole group!

Mitch, Casey, and TJ Kalli, Scott, Heather, Nick

After we visited Rainbow Bridge we took a tour through what we thought was "Cascade Falls" canyon. We drove through as far as we could and didn't ever see the Cascades :) (they were probably under water....) Lake Powell is way pretty and so much fun.

We played for hours and the water was so warm it didn't take any convincing to get in.

The weather changed instantly somewhere around 4:00. That's when we decided it was time to head back to the houseboat. The wind started to blow and the waves got pretty scary! We took a little break at a beach to see if the storm was going to blow over and came across a "message in a bottle". We struggled to read what the whiskey bottle note had on it and sadly it was nothing special. Maybe next time!

We made it back safe and enjoyed a few more hours together before we took off!
It was a quick trip to Lake Powell, but I think my dad was right when he said
"the best way to end a trip to the lake is wanting more".

Hopefully my parents will be up for making the 8 hour trip down again soon!
Thanks again for the fun everyone!

Our 4th

Holiday weekends are the best! Nick and I were both lucky enough to have the day off work so we spent the day celebrating! We hung out with Scott and Kalli Brueck almost all day! We started out by going to the Cedar City parade.... which was okay. Lets face it, the best part of a parade is the candy and you don't get candy thrown at you when you are "big kids" ;)

Well, I got my husband back!

I've been telling Nick he looks cute when he sleeps for months!
I finally got a picture without waking him up!!!

After 10 long days of Governor's Honor's Academy Nick came home and he was POOPED! 52 High School students between their Junior and Senior year came to SUU for a leadership type weekend. Nick was lucky enough to be a counselor and had a ton of fun with these kids!

10 days of rarely seeing your husband can be really hard....

since Kalli and I were in the same situation we occupied our time watching some of our favorite shows, going on Scooter rides, and making these yummy cupcakes!

I did get a little bored....

so there were days when I would do things like make a "Welcome Home Nick" banner.

Once Nick awoke from his "16 hour coma" we were able to have lots of fun! Yesterday we shopped with Scott and Kalli (and found an awesome kitchen table with 6 chairs for $100!!!), went to Cafe Rio, saw Transformers, and made these babies for Monday!
Even though it was hard to have Nick gone for 10 days, I'm so glad he had fun at GHA.

He now has 52 new facebook friends to prove it :)
