Lake Powell

This weekend we were able to head to Lake Powell and spend some time with my family. We had SO much fun! Scott and Kalli came with us and we met up with my fam on Friday night. The weather was great Friday and we spent the evening on the water. The water is definitely alot higher this year than it has been in the past (we've heard it's rising 1 ft a day!).

Saturday we went to Rainbow Bridge and took a really short walk over (due to the high water). The weather was unbelievable - perfect temp, no wind, and clear skies!

It can't get much better than that!

After we visited Rainbow Bridge we took a tour through what we thought was "Cascade Falls" canyon. We drove through as far as we could and didn't ever see the Cascades :) (they were probably under water....) Lake Powell is way pretty and so much fun.

We played for hours and the water was so warm it didn't take any convincing to get in.

The weather changed instantly somewhere around 4:00. That's when we decided it was time to head back to the houseboat. The wind started to blow and the waves got pretty scary! We took a little break at a beach to see if the storm was going to blow over and came across a "message in a bottle". We struggled to read what the whiskey bottle note had on it and sadly it was nothing special. Maybe next time!

We made it back safe and enjoyed a few more hours together before we took off!
It was a quick trip to Lake Powell, but I think my dad was right when he said
"the best way to end a trip to the lake is wanting more".

Hopefully my parents will be up for making the 8 hour trip down again soon!
Thanks again for the fun everyone!
