December Wrap-Up

Well, December is almost over and I haven't blogged about all the fun things we've done this month!

To start, we had so much fun decorating our house with our Christmas decorations!  We changed things up a little since last year, and we found that our tree fits great without having to rearrange furniture.  Excellent!  We didn't go crazy with Christmas decor, but we definitely enjoyed our Christmas clearance ornaments we found last year.

I made new stockings.... my "mrs. claus" needs a little something more so I might add an elf to it next year.  We'll see!

Our friends Scott and Kalli Brueck hosted a Gingerbread contest - we had a single's ward Christmas Party so we were late.... but we got to be the judges!
The whole group!  And us posing with someone else's gingerbread house!

The Sunday following this party, Nick was released from the Bishopric.  We have such bitter/sweet feelings leaving!  We made so many fun friends and have fond memories from being members of the 22nd ward.  Nick learned so much and we have definitely grown as a couple in the past year as well.  We are very excited to jump back into the married ward though and meet some of the 30+ couples that moved in in the past year!!!  (And I'm excited to have Nick back to hang with on Sunday afternoons!)

My parents gave us such a fun Christmas gift this year - involving a 12 day countdown.  Growing up my mom would put something new in our stocking each day as a countdown to Christmas - I somehow forgot how much fun that was!

The night we opened the a gift with a puzzle we invited friends over and put it together :)

Last Thursday we went to Salt Lake this year to spend Christmas with the Shobers.  We had such a great Christmas break!  It was way fun to spend time with Nick's family and experience Christmas at their house this year.  Although we did a lot of relaxing, we still kept ourselves busy!  Movies, yummy meals, family parties, and the Shober Family Christmas Morning Breakfast are just the beginning of all that we were able to do.  We had so much fun!

We were also able sneak away on Friday for a few hours to meet up with my parents/brothers to go to the Melting Pot and Mannheim Steamroller concert.  The food was delicious and the concert was entertaining!

Our dear families: Thank you for such a fun Christmas and for spoiling us with so many gifts and great memories!  We love and miss you!!!
