2011 Already?!

I can’t believe it’s already 2011!!! Ever since I started my job it feels like time just flies by! We decided to ring in 2011 with some friends at “First Night” in St. George. It was a complete blast - we all agreed it would be worthwhile to go to again! Although St. George was FREEZING (weird right?), there was so much going on –magic shows, hypnotists, fireworks, dancing, ZUMBA(!!), yummy hot cocoa, free pictures… we loved it! I will get pictures and post them asap!

Nick and I have talked about setting some 2011 resolutions – we don’t want to set too many, but we’ve come up with a few:

1. We are going to finish the Book or Mormon this year – this doesn’t sound hard, but I always feel like I have to make a point to “finish”… I have a habit of starting over mid way because I feel like I’ve strung my reading out…

2. Fitness goals are always a must! It’s hard to make time to exercise when life gets busy – we are bound and determined though! The goal is to get up and to the gym 5 times a week (hopefully BEFORE work so we can enjoy our short evenings not at the gym!). Thanks to the Hussey Family Fitness Challenge we’ve done really good so far!

3. We also want to save some $$ for a new car…. It seems like there is always some sort of unexpected expense that can get in the way of saving as much as we want to! This year the goal is to make a “car payment” to a special savings account each month that will someday help us buy a new vehicle (we’re leaning toward a Ford Escape Hybrid…. but since it will take a few years to get the cash needed, we’ll see!).

We have other goals we’re continually working on in addition to these (mine is to run the Hurricane ½ marathon this April) – It feels so good to have a plan!

Our friends Cameron and Kelsey are getting married this weekend…. We cannot wait for this wedding! Nick dreamed about it a few months ago (before they were even engaged) and he said it’s the best wedding we’ve ever been to (aside from our own I’m guessing ;))! It will be a nice LONG weekend to take Friday off for their wedding AND celebrate MLK day Monday by not working as well!
