We headed out to Roosevelt to enjoy a relaxing long weekend with my family. It was so nice to just relax for a couple days! My birthday was on Saturday - we celebrated by sleeping in, lounging in our pj's, basking in the sun at Flaming Gorge, eating at cafe rio, chatting, and opening some wonderful gifts! I loved it! And it feels good to be able to say I'm "23" now.

Sunday Nick's parents came to visit. We ate some delicious BBQ food, then our families watched us open more wedding gifts... Holy smokes - we got so many wedding gifts and our families watched us open dang near all of them! We played The Great Dalmuti for a while, ate more cake, looked at wedding pictures, and just kind of hung out! It was great :)
Monday we relaxed and just enjoyed hanging out together. Nick and I headed back to Cedar that afternoon and finally made it just after 8:00. When we got home I went to use Nick's keys to get into our apartment and he didn't have an apartment key on his key ring. "Nick, where's your apartment key?" "Oh... it's not there? It must have fallen off." As I'm searching through my purse I stop to say "Well, you better get a better key ring so your key doesn't just fall off! It would be bad if it fell off sometime and we were locked out." I then opened the door and SURPRISE!!!! A ton of our friends had been waiting for us IN our apartment (he really DIDN'T lose his key!). Nick planned a surprise party for my birthday!!! We celebrated by eating a delicious Mario Party cake Dani made as well as some left over hot dogs from our SLC reception! What a blast :) Nick has this way of just surprising me all the time. I'm not sure how he does it... but he somehow always pulls it off without me suspecting anything (like... when we got engaged for example!). Anyway, he's the best! And what sweet friends we have to come over and make the surprise party happen!
