8 Months

Geez, time is just flying.  I can't believe Maylee is 2/3 of a year old.  And by the time she is one, Mitch will be home from his mission!  Now that is crazy.

Thanks to pinterest, I've made a few terrible recipes lately.  I've also tried a few that we LOVE.  So I guess it weighs out a little. When it comes to dinner foods, I feel like we always end up going back to some of our favorite recipes we've been making since Nick and I first met.  One of those is a recipe my college roommate, Camille, shared with me, and it's so good I like to pass this one around.

I've decided to post a few of our favorite recipes on our blog for a couple reasons.

1. So I can find the recipes easily when I need them.

2. To make meal planning easier.

3. In case any of you need to redeem yourself after trying a bad recipe you found on pinterest.  You can thank me later ;)

Another Year Older

We celebrated Nick's 26th birthday last week!

Nick is so easy to please - I asked him what he wanted for his birthday and he said,

"I want strawberry shortcake to eat. And a scarf." 

Thank goodness he's low maintenance because I caught a nasty cold and was a little miserable when his birthday rolled around.

We went to Tucano's for dinner with Nick's birthday buddy and his wife, Adam and Crystal.

It's been a while since we'd seen them, so it was really fun to get together!





Valentine's Day

We had a pretty low key Valentine's day, but it was really fun to just hang out as a family.

To start, Maylee experienced her first ponytail :)

Linda has been so great to take pictures of Maylee for us.  

We try to take pictures every month, so we decided a Valentine's photo shoot was necessary :)  

I am in LOVE with how they turned out!

Vocal Point

Another resolution this year is to plan more dates/family outings - sometimes the weekend rolls around and we haven't even thought to plan anything fun.  But we're working on it!


Nick bought tickets for us to go to a Vocal Point concert a few weeks ago.  We tried our hardest to find a babysitter and it was a busy night for everyone, so we decided to just take Maylee with us.  It worked out PERFECT.  She was so good!  The people next to us were probably wondering why we had a baby there, but she didn't make a peep so I don't think anyone minded.  Luckily there were a few babies there so we didn't feel too awkward :)

Excuse the bad quality - we have fallen into the habit of just using our phone for pictures. 

We had such a fun night!  I shouldn't seem so surprised - how could we not have fun at an a cappella concert.
Now Nick and I are itching to watch Pitch Perfect again....

7 Months

It's that time again!  Maylee is 7 months old.  I have been so amazed at how quick Maylee changes - it's like overnight she learns how to do something new or her features look more grown up.
