Today was kind of a long day... work was a little slow and sometimes my mind wanders during the day when it's not completely occupied with projects at work. I can't say I had a "bad" day, but it was just kind of "blah". I began to worry about our little baby, hoping that she is growing well and being safe as she develops.
I ran to the grocery store to grab a few things after work and saw 6 people standing outside the front doors - each of them was holding a bright pink sign and I thought "Great. This is going to be awkward to just walk past as they try to sell me something. Too bad I can tell they aren't Girl Scouts with cookies."
As I got closer, I noticed they weren't selling anything. They looked like college students, probably working on a school project. The guy closest to where I was walking held a box with a bunch of little pieces of paper folded up in it. His sign said "Take a positive thought!" As I walked past, he asked me if I wanted a "positive thought" to take with me. I reached into his box, grabbed a thought, and smiled.
The next person was holding a sign that said "Free Hugs". Although I didn't take advantage of the free hug offer, I had a hard time wiping the smile off my face as I realized I had been wrong - I didn't have to dodge any salesman as I walked into the store - I had an excuse to sincerely smile and read a "positive thought" to boost my day.
Thanks "positive thought" guy.
This was not the thought I picked from the box, but a pinterest find that I should blow up and put in our apartment!
With my reminder to make sure I have positive thoughts today (and to not over-worry about things), I'll keep President Hinckley's thought in mind!

Love the way that was done and love the entirety of that quote!
ReplyDelete"It isn't as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don't worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers." -Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley
