Labor Day

Growing up Labor Day was always one of my favorite weekends. My birthday usually falls on the 3 day weekend and I love having another day to sleep in a little!

This year we were in Cedar City for Labor Day - there is a TON to do down here (we tend to forget all the national parks, festivals, etc that are so close to us!). Saturday we went to Peach Days in Hurricane and tried out churros from ChurBros (a booth run by some of our friends). They were so good! They make fresh churros and have a caramel dipping sauce for them too - DELICIOUS! Not to mention they also make Brazilian Lemonade which is super yummy too :)

We went to St. George Saturday night and had dinner at Texas Roadhouse with our friends Lindsay and Rob. The only condition we had on going to dinner in St. George was making it back to Cedar before the Tiki Shack closed for the season. Little did we know, after 9:00 all shaved ice was free on the last night of the Tiki Shack! What a cool night! We also wandered over to the school "Casino Night" activity... Next time we'll just get a RedBox!

Sunday was a very relaxed day which was nice! We started the morning off with a special Emerald Point sacrament meeting which was definitely a good choice. This month the single's ward is in charge of providing the sacrament meeting at the retirement home. We had a good time chit chatting with everyone there and we'll look forward to next Sunday!

After church, we relaxed and just plain hung out.
Nick made a yummy chocolate cake and Mitch, Sam and Syd came over to enjoy it with us.

Monday we went hiking at Zion with Camille and Brady. I may just have a bad memory, but I think that was my first time at Zion! Nick was lucky enough to go for GHA earlier this summer, but we've decided we need to take advantage of more of the national parks nearby.
We hiked to Emerald Pools and enjoyed the overcast weather. It was so fun!

What a good weekend we had!
